Let’s Make Something Cool
Whether your favorite musician or your family, portraits are a unique and personal piece of art, and I would love to craft something beautiful for you. I am currently accepting limited commissions. Most commissions are done in acrylic paint on canvas, but I am open to discussing other mediums if you have something in mind.

Commissions FAQs
Chelsea and Her Girls / 18x24 Acrylic on Canvas/ May 2024
How long does the process usually take?
It depends on the size, complexity, and current commission queue. My most popular size (18x24 acrylic) typically takes about six weeks, but I will always give you an upfront estimate and if you have a particular day in mind I’ll work with you as best as I am able.
Can you paint a celebrity, politician, or historical figure?
Absolutely. While most of my work is of public figures, I do reserve the right to decline if the subject is too loathsome for my taste!
Can you paint a fictional character without reference pictures?
Oh yes. We'll work together to make sure it's just right.
Do you do NSFW/nudes?
Sure. We'll need to confirm that everyone involved is of age and consenting. Outright pornographic commissions are usually limited to digital mediums.
Why are your paintings so expensive?
They're individual, hand-created works of art by an artist with decades of experience; I think you'll find they are actually quite reasonably priced for the quality.
Do you work for free/exposure/experience?
No.
Are you open to trade a painting for a service or product?
Honestly, maybe. I've had wonderful experiences with talent trades in the past; let's chat about it.
I want to do something kind of strange. Can you handle an unusual request?
Yes! Weird is my favorite. Elegant goth? Evil clowns? Humans with animal heads? A family portrait that looks like a 1970s sci-fi paperback cover? You bet. Let's talk—if I don't think I can handle it, I'll let you know.
Can you include our pet in the portrait?
Totally!
Is shipping included in your prices?
No, shipping costs vary wildly. I don't up-charge; once the painting is finished, I'll get an exact price for packaging and shipping and add it to your final invoice.

Commission Process
B&A / 18x24 Acrylic on Canvas/ August 2024
Here's a breakdown of how we'll work together to create your piece!
Step 1: Fill out the form.
Start by filling out the commission form to give me a broad idea of your project. Be as descriptive as you can.
Step 2: Share the details.
I'll reach out for specifics like size, timeline, and reference photos. For photos, "more is more."
Reference Photo Guide:
Provide photos of the subjects together, including any specific poses you like.
Share individual photos to help me capture their unique personalities and features from different angles.
If adding someone not in the original primary photo (e.g., a memorial piece), please include multiple pictures of them, preferably with similar lighting/angles as the main image.
Include background images if you have a specific vision.
Step 3: Finalize the vision.
We'll discuss your desired color scheme, mood, vibe, stories, display plans, and any specific features you want to ensure are captured.
Step 4: Review pricing and pay a deposit.
I'll provide a price quote, and a 50% non-refundable deposit is required upfront to cover supplies and secure your spot.
Step 5: I get to work!
I'll begin painting. I'm happy to send work-in-progress photos and stay in touch throughout the process if you'd like.
Step 6: Final payment and shipping.
Once the piece is finished, dried, and varnished, I'll pack it up. I'll then invoice you for the exact shipping cost (no up-charges!).
After you pay the remaining balance, I'll ship your painting and send you the tracking number.
Step 7: Enjoy and share!
I hope you'll share your new art with friends and on social media! With your permission, I'd also love to post it on mine.
